Okay campground, but not what we are used to, The campground is okay, but my family is used to staying in state parks and army corps campgrounds and this was not on their level.
Very clean bathrooms and well tended throughout the day. Some of the more popular amenities offered include a pool, free parking, and kids activities. after the 4th day we had enough we left on the 5th day to late to find and move to a more impressive/eye candy place to stay so we had to just go home.
Place droppings in a plastic bag inside the dumpster; do not place in fire ring.

It's just a few miles North of Helen and you are just a short drive to Cleveland, GA for supplies, etc.
I needed this weekend away more than I knew. Pool was not open yet unfortunately. The staff were always eager to help us with any questions or problems.
You have to make a reservation, but that just insures that you have a site that you can fit in to. The bathhouses were great, were always clean and never crowded. There was a terrible, super bright, obnoxious security light right across the road from our site.
HOWEVER...we loved it and will definitely stay again. The campground is very dog friendly. Conveniently located restaurants include Old Sautee Store Market & Deli, Cimmi's Courtyard Cafe, and Betty's Country Store. the site was all gravel no grass for our dog or no trees for shade.
Our site was great, very shaded, and very level. Many travelers enjoy visiting Hardman Farm (3.1 miles) and Romeo and Juliet Indian Mound Tragedy Site (2.9 miles).
